Lake View Bungalows is ideally situated in the Khao Lak area, with numerous points of interest and natural attractions within a short drive. The local beaches and centres of Khao Lak, Bang Niang, Pakarang and Khuk Khak all make for interesting days spent exploring.
Our closest beach is Memories Beach, a wide, quiet stretch of sand between Khuk Khak Beach and Pakarang Beach in Khao Lak. The shallow shore makes it one of the best surfing beaches in the area — surfboards and surf lessons are available from April to November. Memories Beach Bar sits directly on the beach, with drinks, simple food and a view over the Andaman Sea. It is a favourite spot for sunset, and a short trip from Lake View Bungalows.
There are several waterfalls in the area, including Chong Faa and Sairung. Hire a bike for the day, make your way into the jungle, park up and walk to the waterfall, where you can spend the day swimming, relaxing and climbing up to the higher levels of the falls.
Day trips can be arranged to the nearby national parks of Khao Lak–Lam Ru and Khao Sok: jungle walks, elephant bathing, kayaking, diving and boat trips on Cheow Lan Lake are all available. Spectacular caves and unique rock formations abound in this area; take a longtail boat across the lake and just sit back and enjoy the scenery. Surfing and surf lessons are also available nearby.
Khao Lak is also the gateway to the famous Similan Islands. With world-class diving and snorkelling at your fingertips, just ask for advice on dive trips and courses. Day trips and longer liveaboards are available to the Similans, plus islands further afield such as Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock.
Surfing, golf, cycling, trekking – all sorts of activities are available for the more adventurous. If you would prefer a more relaxed day, why not try a traditional Thai massage, a sauna or one of the other treatments available in the area?
